We provide counseling and
rehabilitation services necessary for a woman or child in distress to help them
overcome crisis. We also generate awareness in communities about the issue of
violence against women and children.

health posts of Dharavi – Urban Health Centre, Kumbharwada and Shastri Nagar
Goal : To end violence against women and children
and help build healthy, functional families and communities by raising
consciousness on recognizing women’s rights and gender inequalities in the
society.
Objectives :
- To provide psychotherapeutic and social intervention to women and children
experiencing violence for immediate, interim, and long-term needs.
- Prevention of Violence Against Women (VAW) by raising awareness through
community outreach activities.
- Long-term intervention for the empowerment of women.

Methodology :
- Use of Microplanning for community mobilization and formation of Slum Action
Committees (SACs)
- Awareness campaigns, street plays, films, audio-visual aids, etc.
- Counseling and reconciliation with family/husband and medical/institutional
rehabilitation services.
Although development strategies must grow and be directed towards encouraging
community participation to ensure self sustenance, CVWC believes that there must
be continuous service provision and uses an integrated approach of service and
social action.
