The findings show that caesarean deliveries and certain healthcare and social barriers can delay breastfeeding initiation. The study emphasizes the need for better support and counselling for mothers and families.

The chapter recommends a multi-level approach involving communities, healthcare facilities, healthcare workers, and policymakers. Key strategies include improving awareness, strengthening breastfeeding counselling, promoting skin-to-skin contact, and implementing Baby-Friendly Hospital practices. These efforts can help improve breastfeeding equity and provide every newborn with a healthier start in life.
